According to forecasts by Statista, global pasta market revenue will reach USD 152.39 billion in 2025. The market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.38% from 2025 to 2030. China will account for the largest revenue share, with USD 31 billion.

The projected average pasta consumption per capita in 2025 is 7.4 kg.

According to UN.AFPA data for 2023, the EU accounted for the largest share of global pasta production at 31.9%. It was followed by the rest of Europe (18.3%), Central and South America (17.8%), Africa (13.9%), North America (12.7%), the Middle East (3.5%), Asia (1.5%), and Australia (0.3%). Country-wise, Italy, the USA, Turkey, Egypt, and Brazil were the leaders in pasta production.

Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan, per capita consumption of pasta products in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 1.61 kg of spaghetti and vermicelli, as well as 2.55 kg of macaroni and elbow pasta.

Consumption of spaghetti and vermicelli increased by 2.5% compared to the previous quarter but declined by 11.3% compared to the same quarter of 2023. As for macaroni and elbow pasta, consumption rose by 0.8% quarter-on-quarter, but fell by 11.8% year-on-year. Thus, in annual terms, pasta consumption in Kazakhstan declined significantly.

At the same time, urban residents in Kazakhstan consume less pasta than those living in rural areas. In urban areas, average quarterly consumption amounted to 1.3 kg of spaghetti and vermicelli and 2.4 kg of macaroni and elbow pasta per person. In rural areas, the figures were 2.2 kg and 2.8 kg per person, respectively.

As for production, in January of the current year, Kazakhstan produced 10.8 thousand tonnes of pasta products — up 3.3% compared to January 2024. The majority of this output consisted of egg-free pasta products, which accounted for 7.4 thousand tonnes. Additionally, in January, Kazakhstan produced 2.8 thousand tonnes of macaroni, 492 tonnes of noodles, 74 tonnes of couscous, and 16 tonnes of vermicelli.
