Retail prices for meat and meat products in the country rose by 2.7% month-on-month and by 19.1% year-on-year as of September of the current year.

Meat and poultry increased in price by 3% over the month, including beef by 3.6%, horse meat by 2.9%, pork and mutton by 2.5%, and poultry by 1.8%. Sausages rose by an average of 1.5%, with boiled sausage up by 1.6% and semi-smoked sausage by 1.1%. Prices for other meat products increased by 2.7%.

Year-on-year, meat and poultry prices rose by 20.9%, including beef by 28.4%, horse meat by 13.5%, pork by 9.8%, mutton by 25.9%, and poultry by 9.1%. Sausages went up by 9.5%, including boiled sausage by 10.2% and semi-smoked sausage by 8.8%. Meat-based products became 21.2% more expensive.

Regionally, in September, monthly price increases for meat and meat products were recorded across all regions of Kazakhstan. The sharpest monthly rise was observed in the West Kazakhstan (4.9%), North Kazakhstan (4.2%), and Aktobe (4.0%) Regions, while the smallest was in the Turkistan Region (1.4%).

In annual terms, the highest growth in meat and meat product prices was recorded in Shymkent (29.4%), as well as in the Ulytau (27.8%) and West Kazakhstan (24.9%) Regions. The lowest increase was observed in Almaty (11.6%), as well as in the Kostanay and Pavlodar Regions (14.4% in each).
