In January–July 2025, the volume of international money transfers sent from Kazakhstan through money transfer systems totaled 391.6 billion tenge, down 15.8% compared with the same period last year. This marked the lowest level in five years and the third consecutive annual decline.

Uzbekistan, despite an 8.7% drop in inflows, became the top recipient of transfers from Kazakhstan at 125.3 billion tenge. Russia, which led in 2024, slipped to second place as transfers there fell 14.1% year-on-year to 119.7 billion tenge. Turkey ranked third with 67.3 billion tenge, though transfers to the country contracted 26.7% — the sharpest drop among the top destinations. Among countries with positive dynamics, South Korea stood out, with transfers from Kazakhstan through money transfer systems rising 26.6% to 3.3 billion tenge.

Meanwhile, inbound international transfers to Kazakhstan through money transfer systems amounted to 126.6 billion tenge in January–July 2025, down 10.8% year-on-year. This continued the negative trend for the third year in a row: transfers declined 24.6% in 2024 and 47.5% in 2023.

Russia, despite a 23.4% decline, remained the main source of transfers to Kazakhstan at 30.6 billion tenge. The United States came second with 19 billion tenge, marking a 6.6% increase — one of the few positive results. Uzbekistan ranked third with 13.2 billion tenge, a moderate 5.2% decrease.
